Incubation :: Process

Applications are invited from young designers, keen to avail incubation support from NDBI in two categories (1) Physical Incubatees - Those who want to pursue their innovative ideas into business at NDBI, Ahmedabad, over a period 18 months with support Services/facilities available at NID and (2) Virtual Incubatees-Those who want to do the same but operate from their own independent space.

Eligibility

Design graduates/professionals below 35yrs who wish to pursue design focused businesses would be given preference.

Exit Policy/Graduation

The companies can exit on fulfilling either of the conditions mentioned below:

1. Successful graduation of incubate.
2. On completion of incubation period of 18 months unless the stay is extended by NDBI.
3. Raising substantial investment from angel investor / Venture Capital Fund / any other investor– Rs.3crores or more.
4. Underperformance or unfeasibility of the business proposition: criteria for the same will be decided and applied by NDBI on case to case basis.
5. When the number of employees of the company exceeds 20.
6. When the annual revenues of the company exceeds Rs. 2 crores or when a company achieves a Profit Before Tax of Rs. 50 Lakhs.
7. When the company enters in an acquisition, merger or amalgamation deal or reorganisation deal resulting substantially in a change in the profile of the company, its promoters, directors, shareholders, products or business plans, or when a company plans for a public issue.

The decision regarding the exit policy of the incubatees lies with NDBI. It is subjected to change or cancellation at NDBI's discretion. The incubator's decision in connection with the exit of an incubatee company shall be final and shall not be disputed by any incubatee company.
