The Design Vision Centre (DVC) at NID was set up to empower design professionals to visualise and realise faster and better in real life environments, to make design solutions user friendly with high success rate in the market.

NID's KMC has a wide range of collection of books in its resources on design, science and technology, art & architecture, paintings, history, humanities, etc. Presently the collection has approximately 33,035 books. The periodical section has nearly 150 current journals with 5,000 back volumes mostly on design-related subjects. The rare and out of print collection includes books on art, architecture, paintings, history, etc. some of them are decades old!

IT Centre at NID embodies NID's 21 st century vision and new age agenda of helping in the creation and dissemination of knowledge.

Metal objects, including some types of furniture and prototypes of industrial products or household articles of every description are made here. Sheet metal of different gaugates can be cut, processed and shaped, moulded and joined, to create the desired forms.

The Video Studio is central to the training of filmmakers. It is equipped with production and post-production facilities, including non-linear editing. Trained staff of teachnicians and editors assist students in the film making process.

This studio allows students to explore leather, and is equipped with leather stitching machines, skiving and splitting machines which assist students in utilising leather as a material for accessory design or furniture design.

The Ceramic Studio is equipped with the requisite machinery used for batch production, as well as ceramic kilns where the design prototypes can be fired at different temperatures. The studio is also equipped with a ceramic lab, where students learn to prepare different ceramic bodies and glazes.
