About Us :: Business Incubators

WHAT ARE BUSINESS INCUBATORS?
A Business Incubator is a facility designed to assist businesses to set up shops and sustain through the start up phase. Normally Incubators provide:

  • An entrepreneurial and learning environment
  • Ready access to mentors, investors, markets and international networks
  • Visibility in the marketplace.
  • Timely guidance for seeking Seed/VC fund
  • Infrastructural support for early commercialization of ideas

The period of incubation varies depending on complexity of the idea. Statistics show that business incubators play a critical role in enhancing sustainability of start-up businesses.

NDBI enrolls Incubatees in two categories.

  1. Physical Incubatees

 Facilities provided:

  • Air-conditioned individual studios
  • LAN with 2 mbps internet connectivity
  • Hi-tech presentation facilities, conference rooms, storage facilities
  • Fax machine, scanner, telephone etc.
  • Rapid Prototyping lab facilities
  • High Performance Visualization Lab
  • Mentoring support
  • Assistance for preparing Business Plans/ Accounts etc.
  • Knowledge Management Resources
  • Guidance & Financial Assistance for Design Registration
  • Platform for showcasing design-led ideas through Design Idea Fairs

       2.   Virtual Incubatees

While the focus of physical incubation has always been on facilities, the process of virtual incubation hinges on an effective business support framework which would help a fledging business grow particularly in its early development phase. Essentially an “incubator without walls” virtual incubator provides exceptional flexibility and efficiency using virtual organization strategies and modern communication technologies. Virtual incubation may be the right choice if:
  • Your business is in the planning or ''pre-incubation'' phase
  • Your business needs more physical space than we can offer
  • You are established in your own premises and do not wish to move

Here,  one is into a business model which requires no separate office or space and this programme has no geographical boundary.
